Hey Guys
I'm interested in stacking 10 oz bars because when the market moves sky high I expect them to become very popular for resale. The only ones i've seen in Aus are those from the Perth mint and these ones http://bullionbourse.com.au/index.htm#e … ct=807955. Actually i was hoping to get some Pamp Suisse 10 oz'rs but is seems they don't make them.
So the question is what 10 oz'rs to you guys buy and where from? Oh, and who makes those bullion bourse ones and are they reputable (the bars not the company)?

Ainslie bullion also make 10oz bars in Australia. https://www.ainsliebullion.com.au/
I get my 10oz bars from the Perth mint. I live in perth so it makes things very simple ![]()

I only have the one 10oz bar at present which is a perth mint one and secured through a private sale. I want to get more in the future, the best source I have seen for them locally is bullion bourse. I'd buy them through my local dealer if he stocked them.

not many 10oz are listed on au ebay, its cheaper buying them locally than ebay.

Yeah - 10oz bars consistently go for stupid prices here on eBay. Not uncommon to see prices $30-$40 higher than dealers.

A good place I have found them is "Momssilvershop.com" . Postage will be a little, but you can get all types of good 10 Oz bars from them. Thats where I got many of mine from to begin with.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think my next purchases will involve some 10 ouncers so I'll be using the info in this thread then.

I bought a handful of the Scottsdale 10oz "Stackers" and haven't seen a nicer bar yet. Here are some pics of one of mine:

What sort of premium are you normally looking at for those Scottsdales hobo-jo?

And where did you get them from? They are beautiful.

Nate from Copper Cave (site sponsor) got me my bars some months ago before Scottsdale started shipping internationally, so paid a little premium on top of what their site was advertising them for.
Now you can buy them direct:

I have only just emailed Scottsdale earlier today to see whether they will accommodate orders under AUD$1000 to assist avoiding Customs/Import tax as currently their FAQ advises only purchases over US$1000 will be shipped internationally. I want some of their new Scottsdale Omnia Silver Rounds :D

I obtained my first Perth Mint 10oz bars the other day - love them:
Keen on stacking more of these. 1oz Kook for comparison.
They're all slightly overweight - one was over 10.1oz.

Same here, I will be in the market for some 10oz bars shortly, and those Scottsdale ones look great.

That's a nice bar! I woulnd't mind having one of those.
Well 1 woulndnt be enough I'd need a few to play around stacking them with their interlockingness.

Just a heads up, I posted in this thread yesterday about some Scottsdale Silver 10oz stackers and a few were keen to know how they can be purchased ands whether they would waive their US$1000 minimum for international orders to get past the customs/import duty in AUS.
They advised they can do an order under AUD$1000 for me to avoid customs/stamp duty costs. You would need to email them: sales@scottsdalesilver.com with what you want to order and they can approve and provide an invoice/payment form. Seems they are a little flexible on the minimum order size.

Quote for postage on 40 x 1oz coins via Fedex was $50 (I assume USD)
Would end up costing a little more per 10oz bar for their stackers than a 10oz Perth mint bar (probably around $5-10 more at today's prices) and their rounds will cost a little more than generic rounds you can buy locally, but sometimes it's nice to treat yourself ![]()

By my rough calculations on 1 ounce bars you would be looking at around $1.60 per ounce more than buying locally from Bullion Bourse.
e.g. 40 x The One bars = US$820 + US$50 post = US$870 = AU$987 (current PayPal cost) / 40 = $24.68 per bar
http://store.scottsdalesilver.com/produ … 7DTen-Pack
Locally from Bullion Bourse you can get generic 1oz bars for $23.10 per bar (pretty sure their prices include postage)
http://bullionbourse.com.au/index.htm#e … uct=807954
So around $1.60 per oz more for a prettier stack. IMO worth it for a few nice ones to look at, but not for any bulk purchases.

I will also be getting some of the 1 Oz Silvertowne Bars from them.

I just done the calculations
40 oz from scottdale shipped and insured $955
40 oz from bullionbourse shipped not insured $929
So a $26 difference.Worth it imo for these

Hey Hobo, what's the deal with customs/import tax over $1000 AUD?
Very tempted to make an order. Do I need to keep it to 40oz?
Some of my favorite bars by the way! Beautiful!

See here for more information, I believe GST and customs duty would be applicable for imports arriving over that amount:

You will need to email them regarding your order, they may allow a smaller order, but keep in mind that in general their minimum requirement would be US$1000 so unsure how small an order would be worth their while organising. My order will be US$812 + post and they were ok with it.
