Looks like ANDA will be running the same talks at the upcoming Sydney show on 14/15 August. Good opportunity for Sydney Stackers to meet up, swap and chat.
I'll post up details once they are confirmed.

I will hopefully make it. If so, I look forward to meeting up again with you Bron and other Sydney stackers.

Sounds great. I'm looking forward to it.
Maybe i'll have enough to swap by then ![]()

Bron,
Thanks for the update.
Your frequent flyers points must be building up.
Pity you can not swap them for for Gold & Silver ![]()

Details of ANDA Sydney are available at http://www.anda.com.au/ANDA_Sydney_flyer.pdf
I recommend at 2.00pm Mark van der Sluys' ‘Gold as Money’ and ‘The role of Gold in an Investment Portfolio’ and then I'm on at 3.30pm (both days) and then happy for an informal chat afterwards.

I'd love to come and see your talk Bron, but 3:30 AM is a little early (or late depending on how old you are) for me ![]()
Guess someone should change the time on the flyer...

Any plans to meet for coffee/lunch this year? I'll be heading to the show in the morning and will go back in the PM for Bron's session.
Offline
So is anyone planning on attending this weekend? I'll be at the show Saturday.
Offline
I might be going on Saturday too. Not 100% sure but there is a good chance I'll go.
Offline
I hope people will be attending, otherwise I'll be speaking to an empty room!
I'm meeting the organiser of the Gold Standard Institute's seminars at the Doncaster Hotel, 268 Anzac Parade, Kensington at 5pm Saturday. If you want to chat afterwards or can't make the show please feel free to drop by.

Damn.
I have a choice between the "Moose and Mountie" Canadian craft beer festival in Darlinghurst or the ANDA show...beer or metal...talk about a tough decision!
(Might try to do the ANDA show in the morning and do the beer in the late afternoon...)

Hi
I'll be there in the afternoon.Saturday.

Just back from a long day at the ANDA show, plenty of good deals on offer for stackers and numismatists. Met up with a few stackers and caught Bron's presentation (he gave a good plug to this forum, it will be posted on the web).
If anyone is planning to go tomorrow one dealer is doing bags of 50 1966 rounds for $375, there were quite a few bags in his display case. He was also selling $200 gold koala coins for $420 each. Another dealer had some 20 Franc gold coins at $255 each which is basically spot, of course they might be gone by now.
See you in Petersham in 2 weeks!

The price on some of those bank notes blew me away.
Enjoyed it and picked up some good information from both Mark and Bron. Highlight was those million dollar Zimbabwe notes.

Million? Mark gave me a fifty trillion ![]()
I recall seeing some banknotes at the Melbourne ANDA that had an asking price of around $440,000 - mind you, Australian banknotes are one of the best performing investment assets going. There's some serious serious money in old banknotes. Got to wonder how many are stashed away in SMSF safe deposits.

Whatever it was, I can't count that high.

I have $165 TRILLION Zimbabwe dollars in the hand - all mint notes. They're absolutely fantastic too.
I like to collect the hyper inflation currency notes as they're an excellent practical education tool when discussing PM investment and have been great for my kids to learn from as well.
'Dad, how much currency is that?'
'About 100 times all the money in Australia today'
'WOW! Can we buy a farm then with a puppy?'
'Sadly, no darling... but it would be nice, wouldn't it?'
Gotta love kids...

Yep ... I showed my five year old my set of Zim notes. It's amazing how clear the concept of money vs. currency is to kids if you get them young enough.
