Blooming socialist at it again

yep, its all the socialist Twitterati's fault. (sarcasm alert) tongue

Former speaker Bronwyn Bishop has jumped to the defence of Sussan Ley, accusing socialists of tearing her down and arguing that double standards exist for women and men in politics.

Ms Bishop, who was herself forced to resign after claiming $5227 in taxpayer-funded expenses for a helicopter ride to a Liberal Party fundraiser, said Ms Ley's critics were ideologically motivated and fuelled by the "Twitterati" and 24-hour news.

Re: Blooming socialist at it again

Miss Ley was just engaging in free enterprise

Ms Bishop said that she didn't have specific knowledge of how Ms Ley's travel was arranged "but I do know that there are socialists out there who want to attack free enterprise and anyone who sticks up for it. And I know that socialists, like alcoholics, will blame anyone but themselves. And whereas alcoholics can damage their own families, socialists can destroy the whole country."

Re: Blooming socialist at it again

The nasty socialists might have been planning (according to Susan) to look her past transgressions. Can't have that:

Sussan Ley deep-sixes diaries to avoid media 'fishing trip'

Sussan Ley will not release her ministerial diaries for fear of a media "fishing expedition" and she is not the first Turnbull government minister to demand secrecy over meetings and movements.

The stood-aside Health Minister yesterday said she would only provide her diary to two department investigations because "it is not -always appropriate for ministers to release all of their diaries".

"Will I allow the media access to go on a fishing expedition, at perhaps the cost of confidentiality of some of the both confidential and commercial-in-confidence meetings that I have? No, I won't."

"We just need to pay the politicians more money to attract more competent people to the role." Isn't that how it goes? More money => a better class of person.

Therefore, Ley just needs a pay rise and her behaviour will improve! lol

If we pay them more we might at least get a better class of criminals lol

"But what's this got to do with socialism?" pressed host Laura Jayes.

"A lot, a lot. Socialists will always blame anyone but themselves."

The irony...

Re: Blooming socialist at it again

still plenty of worms in the can. she a pilot apparently.

Health Minister Sussan Ley charged taxpayers more than $13,000 to pilot private charter planes along busy capital city routes and is refusing to say why she didn't use cheaper commercial options.

Re: Blooming socialist at it again

ABC

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop charged taxpayers $2,716 to attend the Portsea Polo for "official ministerial business".

Key points:

Julie Bishop charged taxpayers over $2,000 to go the Portsea Polo event in Victoria
Ms Bishop claimed $2,177 on flights, $416 on car travel and a $123 travel allowance
In 2013 two government ministers and a senator charged taxpayers to attend the AFL Grand Final
The revelation comes as pressure mounts on Health Minister Sussan Ley over her travels at the expense of taxpayers, which have sparked calls for reform to the entitlement system.

Ms Bishop was invited to the January 9, 2016 event on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula as a guest of Peroni and Jeep.

She was pictured at the event in an exclusive marquee hosted by Mercedes Benz where her fellow guests included models, socialites and former prime minister Tony Abbott's daughter Frances.

A Department of Finance report shows Ms Bishop spent $2,177 on flights to Melbourne for the event, $416 on a car and claimed a $123 travel allowance.

In response to questions from the ABC, her office issued a short statement.

"The Minister was invited and attended in her official capacity as Minister for Foreign Affairs and Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party,"

Oh the injustice,.....not a huge shock that our politicians are unjust.

I find it funny reading through the various pages here, that on one hand your all predicting doom and gloom with collapsing economies and corrupt systems, and then when it gets brought to light it seems like a huge shock.

Isn't this just good news for you in order to perpetuate the impending doom as politicians take more then they are entitled too, further putting strain on the financial system, and only increasing the chances your pm prices will skyrocket to give one the payday they have been stacking for so long for?

Add to that the hypocrisy of some people who no doubt have fudged a little here and there in their Tax refunds. I doubt there is a single one critically commenting here who has never claimed or ever so slightly exaggerated a claimed expense on their Tax refund, donations to charity, zone allowance, uniform cleaning fees, sun protection, union fees... whatever.

It's all a game anyway, those who know the rules best and are able to use them to their own advantage ought not be seen as cheaters, but just using a system that is planned to rape everyone as much as it can, subverting it to their own gain.

You would be an idiot not to.

Churches, Mosques, Scientology, and Seventh Day Adventists pay no tax, Salvation Army, Google, Nestle', Coca Cola, Yahoo, Apple, Unions, the Labor Party etc etc etc, All bend the rules to benefit themselves, why should an individual of the Liberal party be held up for burning as a Witch ? Because it makes for good news in the leftist media and we are led to believe that politicians are there for us ? ? ? Give me a Fooken break.

Obeid, Dastardly Dastyari,  Tony Burke alone and his $2.2 million in travel fees on top of $2.4 million in other cost's, and yet here we are all again concentrating on a pissant claim presented in the left wing press as a major issue ? And you think it will be fixed this time around...again ?

Maybe we'll see a UK style expose :

From 7 -

MPs expenses claims revealed this week:

* Nearly $3000 claimed to watch a polo match
* Privately chartered planes at a cost of $13,000
* MPs billing taxpayers for attending their boss' private New Year's Eve party

Re: Blooming socialist at it again

and again:

Taxpayers picked up the bill for a $4000 five star "working dinner" that included seven bottles of fine wine hosted by Immigration Minister Peter Dutton at a prestigious luxury hotel in Washington DC.

Mr Dutton and 10 guests – including his staff, former US officials and think tank personalities – enjoyed the $360-a-head meal during his three-day visit to the US for high-level talks last February.

Peter Dutton took 10 guests to a fine dining restaurant in Washington DC, spending thousands before charging it to the taxpayer.
Departmental documents released under Freedom of Information legislation reveal Mr Dutton and his chief of staff Craig Maclachlan were given a budget of $2000 for meals and incidentals for their visit.

But their February 17 three-course dinner alone cost almost double that, at $US2790, which was $3929 at that day's exchange rate.
