Las Vegas Bullion

So I've been Las Vegas for a couple days now. I heard on the radio the Golden Nugget Casino has an ATM that dispenses bullion instead of cash. From 1 gram to 250 grams. They have the golden nugget logo on them. Ill be going there later today to see just how much markup is involved.

Ouch. A casino attempting to fleece patrons...never saw that coming. wink

Have you considered hitting a few of the pawnbrokers to see if they have any deals?

Re: Las Vegas Bullion

Did it come in an interesting package for thAt premium?

WTB 4 to 6 grams of pure gold. Don't care if it is coin, bar or granules. Near spot, suits anyone who has been tempted to open a certicard or just have some granules to make a ring

Re: Las Vegas Bullion

Isn't the T.V. show Pawn Stars which is on 73 Mate in Las Vegas with the 3 generations of Pawn Brokers and their "adopted Son" Chumlee  ??

It is a pretty well organised Pawn Shop looking at the T.V. show with a big sign up high out the front saying - Gold and Silver - plus they have plenty of interesting old firearms  tongue

If I was in Las Vegas that is one place that I would certainly be going for a sticky beak  big_smile

Happy New Year  smile

Re: Las Vegas Bullion

You have to hit the pawn shops and the seedier the better..
The pawn star shop looks pretty but the prices are up there to pay for that beauty.
If you can find a seedy not so flash joint you should be able to walk away with some great deals on gold jewelry , maybe not so much silver bullion but some nice necklaces or bracelets for spot or most likely less.
If you are buying large you may want to pack a glock for safety but you may want to check the law on this but it was legal last time i was there.

Re: Las Vegas Bullion

Despite Nevada being the 'Silver State', the premiums on gold and silver is mostly higher than those found in nearby states.

If you're into firearms, there's Machine Guns Vegas

The New York Times wrote:

Machine Guns Vegas — an upscale indoor shooting range complete with skimpily dressed gun-toting hostesses — opened last week a half-mile from the Strip with an armory of weapons and a promise to fulfill the desires of anyone wanting to fire off an Uzi or a vintage Thompson submachine gun. With its provocative mix of violent fantasy (think blowing holes through an Osama bin Laden target with an AK-47) and sexual allure, it is the latest example of how the extravagances and excesses that have defined Las Vegas are moving beyond the gambling table.

Re: Las Vegas Bullion

Pawn stars has a line out the door to get in. And all the other pawn shops are in really ghetto areas. I'm not hear for bullion so I didn't plan any bullion browsing. I figured the premiums would be high for their custom branded gold but not $63 for a gram.

Re: Las Vegas Bullion

You're in a tourist destination, 3 hour drive from anywhere. I wouldn't expect a deal on anything, let alone bullion.
Also, the "seedy" areas are to be avoided, especially at night.
Take it from me, an ex resident for 5 years.

Re: Las Vegas Bullion

It's not "that" complete ripoff, dealers here ask 1639 euro for a 1 gram bar.
That article silver addict linked was "Posted Thursday, January 13, 2011" and lists a price of $60. Then the gold spot price was $1380.
Small coins/bars tend to add hefty to the weight based price.

Re: Las Vegas Bullion

Its all just to overpriced for me. I'd have to win thousands of dollars before I could justify throwing  away that much money on premiums.  They're supposes to have other world gold coins in there but at the time it was just 1, 2.5, and 5 gram bars.
