WTB 4 to 6 grams of pure gold. Don't care if it is coin, bar or granules. Near spot, suits anyone who has been tempted to open a certicard or just have some granules to make a ring

Anyway this occurred to me today:

The Earth is constantly accelerating towards the sun.

Neat huh?

The Apollo missions took some cracker photo's with the old Hasselbads and I think John Glenn took a few pics with his box Brownie while he was up there orbiting.

Re: The Earth is flat?

Watch this documentary called "How the Earth Was Made" and you'll realize the Earth isn't a flat disc

Or watch this even shorter video of "How The Earth Moves"

It just shows you where our overall educational level is at.

I believe that once these boomers die off and the millennials start to run things you'll see a larger group of people who find these complex scientific processes to be common knowledge.

Re: The Earth is flat?

The earth must be flat because if it was round  we would all slide around.
Now that we are on the subject of flat vs round i just had a great chat with my partner.
I showed her a new trick with the little girl kitten she brought home last month.
The trick consisted of me telling her to rub the cats ear, then her belly , then her testicles........................................
Moral of this?................................Do not send missus to pick up girl kitten.

Anektavata - It's an Indian term which means that all things are true from different perspectives

If you look at the Earth it will appear flat because we are so small compare to it
If you look at the Earth from space it will appear round because it actually is
If you look at the Earth from a 4th dimensional view it will look like a cone

They are all right.

"...round" ?

No. It's supposed to be 'egg-shaped' ...

and the actual shape of the Earth is not constant, as it changes (very very slowly, of course ) with it's movement around The Sun ( effect of gravitational forces ).

That is also a valid point of view

Try watching the first 01:12.

I have wondered how religious fundamentalists would behave when confronted with undeniable proof that (at least part of) their belief system is based on falsehoods.

(Not trying to start a debate on Evolution vs. Intelligent Design.)

You really think so? Have you ever lived in a different hemisphere? If so, you would know that there are different stars in the sky and stars that are common are close to the equator, i.e. You are looking in a different direction in space.
