Not sure where House got his figures from (perhaps a more recent source?), but the 2014-2015 Annual Report shows that 27 of 29 staff were women hmm

https://www.wgea.gov.au/sites/default/f … _14_15.pdf  (Appendix 7)

It was from the comments section of some random Aussie property bubble article I can't find now but Whinfell's numbers are pretty much the same.

And now from an official source, an email repsonse to my query from the WGEA itself. Only 5 of 30 employees are male lol

Re: International Women's Day

International Women's Day is widely celebrated in Russia... of course it is a leftover of the great Soviet experiment with socialism, where the traditional culture was actively being marginalised.

That said, it is a fairly harmless occasion. If anything, it further reinforces traditional gender roles in its Russian iteration. Men get gifts on 'Men's Day' as well, so it is not just a one sided affair.

I enjoy teachers day the most, I get a good haul of gifts wink

Sadly I don't know any women internationally, only domestic ones, so I will just have to stay my usual unkind self.

And this was Abbott on feminism.

(On screen text: I think it would be folly to expect that women will ever dominate or even approach equal representation in a large number of areas simply because their aptitudes, abilities and interests are different for physiological reasons).

LIZ JACKSON (to Tony Abbott): What do you think about those views now?

TONY ABBOTT: Well, I just don't want to go over old ground too much Liz.

Ah, I don't want to repudiate what was said, but I don't want people to think that what I thought as a 21 year old is necessarily what I think as a 52 year old.

Can someone produce the document where he wrote these words?

It was the writer, feminist and activist, Eva Cox, early last year, who referred to Mr Abbott as being an 'inconsistent, confused conservative' as opposed to a misogynist.

"I know there are arguments that misogyny and sexism have overlapping meanings but I'm sticking here to the useful distinction between a view of gender as the basis for entrenched discriminatory differences, and those who have a pathological deep dislike of womankind and an antipathy to what they may stand for,'' she said at the time.

"Abbott fits the first, but not the second category, and seems to have a wide range of female friends. How he copes with women in power is not clear as he is boss of his office and presumably has some say in his family, and has good female friends, but not bosses."

It took a little digging to find the source for this quote. The reason I looked was because in almost each and every case, the quotes taken by the Left are out of context, in such a manner that it is grossly manipulative. There is a word for this called DECEPTION. In plain language, everyday Australians, ie the petit bourgeois, we call it lying.

The reason it took some digging to find the source is when you see the Left quoting Tony Abbott on this, all that is said is 1979 SRC Sydney Uni. The reason for this is almost certainly to discourage effort to read the original, for if most read the original, they would form a VERY different about what was said.

I read through over a dozen scanned online copies of Sydney Uni student magazine Honi Soit before I found the interview, in which Tony is quoted. Tony was the President of the SRC and recently voted in as an AUS delegate, with one of the highest votes of all candidates.

It is clear from any read through that year's publication, that "Honi Soit", the student rag, which all students paid compulsory fees for, was infested with radically left propaganda.

Also, the SRC also was stacked massively left, with an Aboriginal affairs committee, an environmental action committee, a feminist committee, even gay rights, but the thing Tony complained about was the fact that there was pretty much no STUDENT affairs committee...compulsory student fees went to fund Left wing agitprop.

Then he did the unthinkable. He got a petition going to make student fees VOLUNTARY. He had his office trashed, gay posters plastered on his walls, graffiti, a condom nailed to his door, sabotage of his messages and more.

This is the context for the following interview, probably not coincidentally timed around International Women's Day, heavily promoted in the issue and the previous issue of Soni Hoit.

The link is here, page four for the interview:
https://digital.library.sydney.edu.au/b … sAllowed=y

The interview starts on page one and then skips to page four, which is where he is quoted above and clearly, very clearly out of context. But then, we knew that because the Left routinely acts in a conniving, scummy way, cos that's all they have to offer.

Suggest you read it Jules

if someone would kindly screen capture page four, upload it and post it here, that would help others see the issue clear as a bell.

Re: International Women's Day

^ a radical hotbed of leftist thought at a university and radical ideas published in a student rag. Who'd have thought?

I did read it Milly.

Abbott comes across exactly as he does now. A bit of a dolt without much imagination who doesn't understand the contradictions in his own view of the world.

e.g. his final views on "soul destroying" politics in that article.

Perhaps that's what happened when he was grasping for a majority to become PM and trying to bribe Tony Windsor and the independents with hospitals and such.

"He made the point not only to me but to others in that negotiating period that he would do anything to get that job: 'I would do anything to get that job, Tony, the only thing I wouldn't do is sell my arse'."
