Re: Australian Map Shaped Coin Series – Kookaburra 2012 1oz Silver Coin

Looks a nice coin but at $112 a throw when spot is circa $28 I cant see the value when sooooo many Perth Mint proofs have failed to attract a premium above their issue price with a couple of exceptions (Redback and Tasmanian Tiger).

Yeah I could be totally wrong But I am guessing this like most of the colored perth mint crap these days will be unavailable then the hype then the over inflated prices on ebay and everywhere else then the drop to around or below issue price. I wonder how long the colored stickers on the perth coins will last , I had a couple of colored dragons the paint or whatever it is chipped off.

roll

I wouldn't mind paying the $60-$70 for proofs IF
They made quality wooden cases & not so many proofs ,If they did 3/4 proofs for the year you could justify that kind of $
QUALITY PACKAGING big_smile

Re: Australian Map Shaped Coin Series – Kookaburra 2012 1oz Silver Coin

When spot was $28-$29 18 months ago, these proofs used to sell in the $70's as a release price.  $112 today. No thanks.

if the going price is $70's then I would buy more than 9 pieces

then if so many people doing the same, then 666 people will get to keep 9 each wink

PM got $30+ for the map capsule

sadly buyers got to pay for that.

they should make it carded world map coins instead, so that the card can be sold for >$300+  lol

Re: Australian Map Shaped Coin Series – Kookaburra 2012 1oz Silver Coin

^^^ True. If you have limited supply you use price to ration sales.  As it stands, the demand for the coins must be such that the higher price can be maintained.  Just saying as a single consumer my demand at $112 is zero.

Re: Australian Map Shaped Coin Series – Kookaburra 2012 1oz Silver Coin

I'm sick of the Perth mint sending me thick pamphlets about their new releases. I ought to tell them to stop. It's a waste of paper and their money and if I buy any it's a waste of my money. I'm only interested in their low premium numismatic fair.

I suspect in the future you will be very happy you were not able to "SPEND" your hard earnt money on this overpriced collectable.

My opinion - junky rubbish. Looks cheap.. but is expensive.. is limited edition.. but who cares.. cos its ugly and just one ounce.. id melt it down or swap it for a moose..

Sticker factory called --- they want there cheap stick-on back!

Stick with Silver coins - not junky coloured junk proof coloured stickon junk - overpriced (wickedly) junk.

IMHO (my call to those who have not yet been real burnt)

I don't like the price,

Australian Map Shaped Coin Series - Kookaburra 2012 1oz Silver Coin     12S73AAA     AUS $ 102.27 SGD 129.16
but some times I just want to buy the "UGLY" as compared to the lovely Moose

just don't buy too many, or it will be just like the "clown fish" lol

but still cheaper than those very UGLY bears from China. roll

Didnt know there was a land bridge between Tassie and the mainland??  :0p  thought they might have done a holey dollar and dump thing and put the Tassie in the centre of Oz and you can pull it out...Tassie being the "Dump" (...no offense to our Tassie Stackers...lol...its a wonderful place)
