Ebay is great for picking up small items but this is just silly.

If somebody has a 50oz gold bar to sell, why would they list it on ebay starting at 10% below spot ? - and also pay the ebay fees ?
Anybody who owns such a bar would definitely know where they could sell it for very close to spot.

If you did win it you'd either be sending somebody you don't know $70k and hoping you get the bar in the mail, or turning up to a F2F meeting with $70k cash in your pocket.
I'd be too sh*t scared to do either of those things.

My call is it's either stolen, fake or there is no actual bar at all.

but he has a photo of him so must be genuine lol

Re: eBay bargains thread

Not necessarily a bargain, but an interesting listing nonetheless.

130690451751

10 x 1oz "Government guaranteed" coins, with a "mint of under 500,000".  But won't say what the coins are.

Kooks, anyone?

Also, check out the recent negative feedback.  Yikes!

All from a single user mind you.

My guess is the "government coins" might be libertads? Doesn't look like kooks as seller does not say they are individually capsuled...

But I have never seen a 2 oz bar from Ainslie before, new or old?
Has anyone here seen one before?

Here's a cheap redback, Macquarie Mint issue, so you don't get the original Perth Mint packaging, but seems pretty cheap.

A bit different, but contains 2 x 1/2oz silver stamp ingots, one of them gold plated, at not much above spot...

Re: eBay bargains thread

i dont see why it is suspicious for someone to sell lots of stuff... can only imagine what you may think if i had 1/2 of my opal up for sale

i reckon you will be alright with the seller... check out the users that bought off him/her, some impressive buyers giving positive feedback

Fair enough, maybe I would just be considered "underprivelidged".

I count over 700 ounces of gold alone listed

From a seller that does not allow local pick up

This is the ebay sale you have just before skipping the country

I was in "the Ridge" over the easter weekend. Seems to me that opal will fetch more than a buck!

I'm guessing you're another one of those "struggling" opal miners?

That's the beauty of using Paypal buyer protection.

Has only recently changed listing description to add:

Paypal orders may be held for up to a week before processing to allow funds to clear in our bank account

I just rang the seller and he has confirmed that he is the seller and selling all that gold!
