Re: Norfed lovers stackers space

Welcome to the forum bremarti. My core holding for Numismatic collection is the rarer norfeds, & always on the hunt to apply more to my collection if i can buy them at the right price, when loose hands want to part ways with the coin/s.... I was lucky enough to strike up a friendship with Jeff K when he was alive & sourced many of the rarer ones through him, & also Ron G the author of Liberty Dollar Website  It is a shame you did not stick with them, as they have been the fastest appreciating $$$$$'s numismatic in recent times.

My plan was to buy Norfeds when the price of silver was high, then buy & stock up with block silver to my 30+ years of stacking when the POS crashed to balance my hand in silver holding ..... It has worked well for me and my plan worked, as even back when i was buying norfeds it was a gamble with prices still high for them back when i was buying. As for selling on the forum Ron G does now & then or at least lets norfed lovers know when he has a good one for sale! Its hard to part with the rarer ones as mintage's are so small & too hard to replace. Norfeds are a stunning coin especially the 5oz what a coin in the hand to look at,  they have a great story behind them with mintage's low & a great variety to make it interesting to collect

The only way I see for Norfed coins future is up being such a beautiful silver coin..... Good luck with them & hope some nice ones come your way. smile

Re: Norfed lovers stackers space

hello to all Norfed Junkies, I still have a 1oz gold, a North Carolina 1oz silver, and a graded Texas,. I sold my entire collection for generic bullion and then sold on the recent uptick to finance Daughters college. The collection did include Gold and the rarer 5oz proof that I do Miss. The best in that collection I sold earlier was the 1/4oz split Piedford I believe its called. Just curious if anyone one had a real $ value on the split coin?
its possible a maybe getting some coins back.

as for the trump set. I have yet to see the gold I have been wanting to see a real pic of the coin not stock photos. It also is to be a split coin correct?

Re: Norfed lovers stackers space

Let me know if you decide to sell the 1oz gold. - As for the trump, it has been on Ebay at least once with real pictures. I did not find one today though. Actually I just looked on the trumpdollar site and they do have a real edge picture here: https://www.trumpdollar.us/proof-gold-t … r-set.html

Re: Norfed lovers stackers space

Which gold coin, 1000$ or 500$?

I would like to have 1/4.  There were some on feeBay, but didn't buy. I think one was quite damaged.

I will maybe buy some Trump dollars. Mainly because they were designed by NORFED's architect, not because of political reasons.:)

Re: Norfed lovers stackers space

Hey Soul, thanks for the welcome.  I noticed in reading some of the past forum that you appeared to be the big player as it pertained to the rare and unique pieces.  I must say, from the photos you've shared, I am green with envy and any time you decide you want to unload, please be sure to look me up on PM smile. ( Aren't you the individual that posted the RP split piedfort photo?....if so, BIG time jealousy on that one lol)

Stark, thanks for the book recommendation buddy.  I have one ordered and on its way to me as we speak, really looking forward to digging into it.  I'm with you, I'd like to snag the 1/4 oz gold piece too but not having a lot of luck finding anyone that will part with one in good condition.  I've got the $500 and 1/20th, and will have to just continue to work on the other three I guess.  I know patience is the name of the game when you are collecting, but I'm not a particularly big fan of it.

Mechanic, from my reading I believe you are correct about the Trump coin being a split piece.  It's a sharp looking coin, especially as a set, but I don't suppose we should expect anything less considering the designer.

Glad to see we had a few more replies over the weekend here on the forum, I was getting worried that Stark and I would end up having to resort to multiple screen names in an effort to strike up conversation smile

Re: Norfed lovers stackers space

Ha ha good one Bremarti, diff screen names...lol.  thanks for the link flec. What is the going rate for 1oz Gold and for the 1/4?
I do know the guy I sold to has several of ea.  The 1/4 I traded him back was a beauty. He also has another 1/4  with copper spots on it.  He and I went in on a lot of about 330 oz of norfeds a few yrs ago..Most all of them newer stuff.  Over half the lot was milk spotted proofs. I was really disappointed, beautiful 2008,and 2009 almost all milk spotted. You guys shoot me a PM of offers or what the going rate is for the gold also any others you may want me to inquire about. I have very established feedback on a few other sites.  Both myself and my buddy have bought multiple items from Charlie... another friend of mine bought 2 monster boxes of trumps....between the 2 of us I think we have 4 rolls...I didn't get any of the proofs. And the set is outa my price range at the moment...

Re: Norfed lovers stackers space

I'm glad that this thread is more active now.:)

I'm interested in: 1000$ gold, 1/4, Libertads and 5oz.

I think I didn't see any NORFED coin yet with milk spots.

Where did you get info about 1/4 Trump coin? That would be nice to have.:)

I might buy also one roll of Trump dollars or at least few pieces. Mainly because BVNH designed them.:)

Re: Norfed lovers stackers space

It's nice to see activity here in this thread.   I thought people had gotten tired of NORFED coins and stopped posting.    I've been collecting NORFED for over a year.  Probably, the best piece that I currently own is a  2 oz. piedforts.

Re: Norfed lovers stackers space

Welcome to the forum Cent!  No, definitely not tired of them.  The Piedforts are cool pieces , I've got three of the SN ones myself and love them.  What got you into collecting the NORFED pieces?

Re: Norfed lovers stackers space

What got me interested in NORFEDs?  I think it is the history behind them.  I started collecting silver bullion 3 years ago.  A person in another forum, posted a picture of a NORFED coin a year ago. That's how I got exposed to the coins.  It got me intrigued.  I started Googling everything about NORFED and that's how I came ended up in this forum.  I've been buying NORFEDs whenever I get a chance.

Right now, I'm 6 coins away from completing the state set.  I think I just got lucky in getting as many as I have. Will I complete the set?  Only time will tell.  I'm just happy I have the ones that I have.

Re: Norfed lovers stackers space

Hey fellas, sorry been busy closing out summer and haven't had a chance to get on here much.  That's awesome cent.  I'm with you, the story makes the collectible all the more special.  I hope you are able to complete your SMI set as its a cool one to own.

Stark how's life buddy?

Surf, since you have been a part of the forum for a long time and have an impressive collection, I was wondering if you could help shed some light on a piece I picked up the other day.  It's a North Carolina SMI with a BNVH stamp and an etching of the face of Kevin Innes just to the left of the torch...you know anything about it or have you seen any like it before?

They are still open, I buy from them a couple of times a year. I just bought one of the above and had the coin in a week.  They do take a long time to respond, but the coins always show up. I hope this helps.

Re: Norfed lovers stackers space

I have only 100$ version. I'm planning to buy 50$ for some time.

These remain one of the nicest 5oz coins out there and also my favorite. I only wish/dream they would make even bigger sizes.:)

I would like to get them graded, but for ANACS it's too big I think and NGC or PCGS probably won't grade them.

When you have it in hand you can feel how the capsule is almost "barely" holding them.

Even though they are not the rarest NORFED pieces, they are without doubt one of the most spectacular and mandatory for any serious collector.

Recently I think 1 or 2 were sold on eBay and the "Libertad" set which I would like to get for a long time, but my budget is shit.
