Fashion mum demands $500 for daughter's scuffed shoes after play date

A mother has been chastised on live television by Piers Morgan after demanding her friend pay more than $500 to replace her daughter's designer booties, scuffed during a play date.

The UK morning presenter was gobsmacked as he listened to Sarah Louise Bryan, 28 – a fashion designer best known for creating a dress out of pubic hair – explain how she sent her friend a bill for $536 after her daughter's Italian fur booties had scuff marks on them after a day of playing.

The agitated mother who said her daughter only wears top designer clothing, blasted back at the host claiming she packed a second pair of cheaper shoes.

"She had spares," she screamed before asking the Good Morning Britain host what he would have done.

"What would I do? Well I wouldn't be buying my daughter £325 shoes to start with," Morgan responded, labelling the mother the "worst kind of parent".

Ms Bryan penned an email to her friend following the play date demanding she cover the costs of the shoes by February 1.

"So Isabella has just come home from her playdate with your child and I am disgusted to see her new Italian leather shoes are all scuffed and have a Sharpie mark on them," she wrote in the email.

"Below is the bill for these replacing because they can not be fixed these are fine Italian leather! As a designer I do not want my child to look anything less than pristine. Bill for a replacement pair of Italian fur booties £325 to be paid by 01/02/2017 before I take this higher. Thank you. Sarah."

During the morning interview she said Isabella – known as Bella - only wears high-end designer clothes.

"Bella is already so image-conscious that she knows how to accessorise and is very colour co-ordinated," she said,

Family thrown off Jetstar flight for refusing to take their assigned seats

A family has been kicked off a Jetstar flight for reportedly refusing to take their allocated seats, dividing social media on whether the airline overreacted.

Video of the incident taken by Vincent Bamforth on a flight from Bali to Adelaide on Tuesday night showed a group of people with a young child being removed from a flight because of a seating issue.

Two of the fathers were reportedly angry because they had not been allocated seats with the rest of the group.

Jetstar claims the family had taken other passengers' seats in an attempt to stay together and refused to move when confronted.

Bamforth, who could be heard vocally criticising the airline's actions, posted the footage to his Facebook page saying staff showed "complete ignorance".

"Four passengers kicked off the flight to Adelaide. Young boy was balling his eyes out. Jetstar you performed poorly, over exercised your power and should be shamed internationally. Your captain is irresponsible and lacked due care and showed complete ignorance," he wrote.

...

"The passengers refused to follow numerous requests from our crew so the Captain decided that they would not travel on that flight.

"Like all airlines, our customers are allocated specific seats and we can't have a situation where passengers sit wherever they like. This causes disruptions to other customers and delays the flight departing. "

The airline booked the family onto a return flight the following day.

What if those "retards" were sitting with their families or friends?

And it's only for a few hours anyway. It's the general attitude that they demand special treatment.

I don't think so.  Sometimes you don't get what you want and that's life.

Be an adult about it and accept the occasional minor inconvenience.  Instead, this guy caused a disturbance, inconvenienced everyone else on the plane and blamed the Captain for it when he was just doing his job.

[Edit]: What a crummy example to set for your kids!

Meh.

You ask politely if you can sit closer to your family.

If the cabin staff say no, you politely express your regret, mention any special circumstances and ask again.

If they say no again, you thank them for checking, say you understand and then sit where they tell you to.

They're responsible for your safety. If you're not going to listen to them about basic stuff, they might well have concerns about whether you're going to listen to them about something important.

In any event, the captain is God so if you're behaving badly enough for them to get involved you're SOL if you don't like their decision.

But Elena Della Foresta Scamoni, who said she was on that flight, commented on the Facebook video to say the crew overreacted.

"I was on that flight and the flight attendant overreacted they didn't refuse to sit like Jetstar say they just questioned why the seats were the way they were and they couldn't sit alongside their family," she wrote.

"The young flight attendant overreacted no one was rude to her they merely discussed this between each other and I heard them say it's not the attendants fault no one was blaming her, Jetstar didn't even let the 2 families explain the story, the families were shocked the attendant was upset.

"To kick two families off with young children was disgusting and completely unnecessary they were no way abusive or rude, Jetstar should be ashamed of themselves for doing such a thing to families with young children it was completely out of line ... if the air hostess can't handle being questioned then she's in the wrong industry she ruined everyone's flight delaying us all for no reason ... my son actually cried he wanted to sleep but said he was scared the lady (flight attendant) might tell him off!!!"

The dad in the video, who requested not to be named, said the Jetstar statement was "false".

"No members of my family or the other family which were removed from the flight acted inappropriately, rudely or offensively towards any Jetstar staff or other passengers. There was nothing which warranted any passenger being removed from the flight and the inconvenience to two families with young children was significant," he said.

Re: Entitlement

It sounds like a clash of wills, and the captain of the aircraft had the final say. It may have been an overreaction on one side and stubbornness on the other, but if the father had simply acted maturely and moved to his assigned seat, and then maybe moved after takeoff, it would all have been fine.

If he is upset about the unfairness of the seat allocation, and indignant about a request to move to his assigned seat, then he should thank god he has never been in the military where if you don't have sufficient emotional discipline and are stupid enough to indignantly defy arbitrary BS decisions or idiotic requests, you will find yourself in the shit faster than a teenage boy pitching a tent after discovering internet porn.

Re: Entitlement

Ms Anderson takes exception to "Daycare Dave's" view that those without children should not have to subsidise daycare for those with children:

Unfortunately, Senator, you are wrong. In fact, there aren't that many good reasons why people without children SHOULDN'T support people with children.
