Stawell Victoria's largest gold mine to close

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-13/1 … n=business

"In 2009 Stawell Gold Mines produced more than 86,000 ounces of gold, compared with just over 32,000 ounces this year," president of Australian operations, Darren Hall, said in a statement.'

So unviable and they dug up 32,000 ounces this year.

Which tells me there is plenty of gold left in the ground. If this is the case of most mines around the world imagine how much more gold is in the ground.

Interested in a wide variety of low premium legal tender World Silver coins, average conditions is fine.
Will pay a decent premium for a variety different silver coins in single lots, not looking 10, 20 or more of same coins.
Note I tumble these to clean them before I put it in jars for display, so I dont want to buy any rare coins for preservation.

This will be an interesting story to follow in the next few years.
Reminds me of the plight facing the residents from 'Rock Ridge'

Does this means that Australia will be losing its position as the second largest Gold mining country in the world ?

yikes

Is it because of the tax issue like described in: http://www.theaustralian.com.au/busines … 3a81eb475b
