Bumping sale threads

Can we have a limit as to how many times you can bump? It is annoying that some folks keep bumping their sale thread even after 1 week.

There should be limit of 7 bumps, after that a moderator should close the thread - read only

Well after 3 bumps ,lets say 3 days ,you either want to much
Or people just aren't buying , I put up a 10oz bar free to good home + $350 postage lol
And ofcourse nobody bought it ,but after 2 weeks of no bumps , a US newbie bought it , big_smile
SO people do look at the old sales threads wink

Re: Bumping sale threads

Maybe a surcharge after the third bump
1oz silver for each bump after number three wink
1oz gold after number ten wink
The boss would be rich & I could charge a commission for the idea & policing it big_smile

lol

Re: Bumping sale threads

Oh god a bump limit would be great as the same items with unrealistic prices keep getting bumped up covering the other sale thus a vicious cycle of bumping perpetuates.

Call out the Bump police!!!! Too much bumping. Gotta stop that illicit bumping. Can't have too much unmanagable bumping going on. Bump, bump, bump!

Re: Bumping sale threads

-1 policing bumps

I was never ever never ever bothered by people bumping sale threads.

Anyone whom is in the market to buy will see your thread whether or not you bump.

I'm with Redback (cause I prefer minority). Pointless to police bumps.
However, if there were literally one page full of new sale threads being created daily, then I can understand policing bumps.

Re: Bumping sale threads

Of course, if there are excessive bumps within a small time window (such as seconds/minutes) this ought to be policed. Though, depends on the 'added' content.

For example,
There was a time I had up 20x ASEs going cheap. Since I was in need of quick money I was bumping and dropping price every couple of minutes. Redback came to my aid again.  sad
Swear at one time I ended up going well below spot.
Done the next best thing; bribed GP with it.  lol

But seriously, I'm with the OP on this one. I'm sick and tired of having to take responsibility for my own internet reading and wanking watching. It shouldn't be up to me to make my own decisions to skip pointless threads, bumped sales and RC's hebrewphobic premium princess rants, so, I'm all for a huge police presence. Bring it on now. Protect me from my own stupidity and laziness. I got a list of members who would make ideal Forum-Fuzz.

Right, can I name them?   big_smile
