Whats the difference between these two? I understand the mintage is pretty low on these. Looks like they are packaged differently.

The difference is the finishes each one has.The first coin is a proof finish..ya know a mirror finish, and the second one has a burnished finish,a coin that starts out as a regular production coin but the blank is "washed in a bath of tiny ball bearings" which gives it a slightly shiny look.

Which one is more desireable?
I've been wondering what burnished means..

Hi both are desirable coins, I have just recently purchased the 2008 1oz proof Buffalo in omp and I could not be more happy with it. They are beautiful coins and the prices just keep going up. Both the proof and burnished versions have a very low mintage .
