One for the monkey...

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/moss-val … 1129925098

1964 VW beetle
All original. Has been in a barn for many many years.
Very little rust. Great condition.
New door skins
And many other panel repair pieces that might be needed for a full restoration come with the car.
The car is very complete
Reluctant sale due to moving back to the city . Be quick as this car is rare in such good original condition. Delivery available to nearby areas.

They've brought it down from $100 last week - shame I'm a little too far out of reach.

Re: Gumtree deals-good ones and not so good ones

Real or fake?

I've had these coins for nearly ten years, given to me off my grandmother, I did research a while back on what they were worth and tried to sell them but no luck and lowball offers. But I'm back because I'm literally desperate for cash. So
The two Spanish coins in mint condition are worth 600 each, you can take both for 250.
The draped busy liberty silver coin in mint condition is worth 30 thousand. If you really wish to make an offer I'm open to anything, obviously I'm not chasing 30k, not even chasing 10k so make an offer.
The other American coin in mint condition is worth 1k but you can take it off my hands for 400
Or I'll sell the two Spanish and the cheaper American coin in a bundle for 600

Fake - based on the description, not the photos.

Is it just me, or is the tarnish a bit suspicious on some of those photos as well?

Re: Gumtree deals-good ones and not so good ones

First, we are only looking at the American coin

My experience, gumtree absolutely sucks when it comes to PMs. Every seller wants a fortune. It's a fool's errand. Not long ago, there was a particular coin I was after and it just happened to be, in all of Gumtree Australia, in the town I was in, but the vendor wanted $500, when his item was written gEF on one side and aUNC on the other, in the photo. Of course his view was it was aUNC, but even at aUNC a shop-based dealer was 20% cheaper and the dealer has issues like overheads and GST. That is why I never go to gumtree for PMs, it is loaded with sharks and braindead idiots.

Rant over.

Now, the american coin.

Emotive story "given to me off my grandmother". Seriously, why say this? In my experience, sellers who pull family strings in there are manipulative. If so desperate, why not go to a dealer & get a valuation if they are worth that much? Because, maybe already this was done and most likely, they are not, hence now the plea for a salad veggie to save the day in gumtree.

The 1803 is struck in an almost horizontal manner. It would be best to determine whether the genuine article conforms to the curve of the circle of the coin.

Re: Gumtree deals-good ones and not so good ones

And he keeps quoting mint prices and his "coins" are nowhere near that!

Messaged the seller, it is just under 100 grams... a bargain for someone.
